Position Overview

As a Local Truck Driver at NovaXpress Courier Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. This is a permanent position that requires dedication and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Management: Plan or modify routes based on real-time conditions using advanced navigation tools to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Customer Interaction: Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns with a high level of professionalism.
  • Travel Coordination: Organize travel itineraries and make necessary reservations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a two-person team or convoy.
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload goods while ensuring the security of cargo.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport materials and goods.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure optimal operating conditions.
  • Information Relay: Communicate effectively with central dispatch regarding cargo details and travel updates.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of cargo information, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Safety Protocols: Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping and handling procedures.
Qualifications
  • Licenses: Must possess a Class 1/1F/A Licence for semi-trailer trucks and a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Documentation Skills: Familiarity with various transportation documents including accident reports, bills of lading, and inspection reports.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Experience with flatbed and tractor-trailer types of trucking.
Work Environment

This role involves working in various conditions that may require handling heavy loads and performing repetitive tasks. Attention to detail and physical stamina are essential.
