Job Overview
As a Sales Counter Representative at EMCO Corporation, you will play a vital role in our operations. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional sales assistance to our clientele by addressing inquiries, processing orders, and managing backorder follow-ups. You will focus on serving our walk-in customers and handling incoming phone requests, while also supporting our Outside Sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers by researching products and offering tailored recommendations from our extensive inventory.
- Foster sales growth through effective counter merchandising, product promotions, and generating leads for the Outside Account Management team while engaging with customers at the counter.
- Accurately enter, pick, and package sales orders generated at the counter.
- Notify the purchasing department when inventory levels are insufficient.
- Manage returns and warranty claims for both account and cash sales, ensuring compliance with all procedures.
- Address customer concerns and complaints by finding suitable solutions.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Experience in customer service or counter sales is preferred.
- Exceptional customer service and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong relationship-building skills with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Capability to learn and utilize the relevant software systems for order processing.
- A solid work ethic and a commitment to integrity.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with HVAC/R and building products sold at the Profit Centre.
- Proficiency in using the Internet as a resource for problem-solving and providing alternative solutions for customers.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
