Role Overview: As a Client Relationship Specialist at Bank of Montreal, you will provide outstanding service to our clients and potential customers. Your primary responsibility will be to assess customer needs and offer tailored financial solutions that align with their best interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with current and prospective clients to conduct needs-based assessments, fostering loyalty and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Assist clients in completing assessments to determine suitable financial solutions and preferred banking methods, recommending customized options for both sales and service requirements.
  • Guide clients on available digital and self-service banking options, ensuring a seamless and efficient banking experience.
  • Support transaction needs based on customer volume and demand.
  • Expand Bank of Montreal's business by reaching out to potential clients, scheduling appointments, and establishing new community relationships.
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues arising from consumer credit audits and quality checks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Implement risk management strategies to safeguard the Bank's assets and maintain the integrity of the lending portfolio.
  • Make informed credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, adhering to sound credit principles and Bank policies.
  • Collaborate effectively within a dynamic branch and market team.
  • Identify and understand client banking and credit card needs, integrating marketing initiatives into client discussions to provide strategic advice.
  • Organize work information meticulously to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Take initiative to develop creative solutions that enhance each client's experience.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall customer experience within the branch.
  • Support business outcomes and enhance the overall service delivered in the branch.
  • May require flexibility to work at multiple branches based on market demands.
  • Adhere to risk and compliance protocols to protect customer assets and maintain confidentiality.
  • Stay informed about the financial services landscape, legal regulations, and ethical standards within the industry.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of personal banking products and trends, integrating this knowledge into client interactions.
  • Recognize and report any suspicious activities potentially related to money laundering.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguard the Bank's assets in accordance with all applicable regulations and ethical standards.
  • Handle diverse tasks within established guidelines, including managing escalations from colleagues.
  • Analyze challenges and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2 - 3 years of relevant experience, with a post-secondary degree in a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of registration to sell investment products as required by jurisdiction (Canada only).
  • Possession of appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Familiarity with personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
  • Knowledge of retail investment and lending products.
  • Experience in the financial services sector is advantageous.
  • Proficient in utilizing social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications.
  • Background in consultative customer service or sales, with a focus on delivering personalized experiences.
  • Strong commitment to assisting clients.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to excel in a consultative sales and team-oriented environment.
  • Resourceful self-starter with the confidence to engage clients.
  • Willingness to collaborate and adapt to various roles within a team.
