The Job:

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Leader to join our team. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with clients and partners to deliver exceptional results, providing technical expertise and leadership on complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Supervise the preparation of financial statements for business clients, reviewing the work of junior accountants and completing complex portions of the file.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high-quality control by overseeing and reviewing Compilation and Review Engagements.
  • Tax Services: Review corporate, personal, and trust income tax returns and other tax forms.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Review, investigate, and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries and reports.
  • Analysis and Recommendations: Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Technical Research: Perform technical research, develop, and document tax planning recommendations for individuals and corporations.
  • Corporate Reorganizations: Assist with the execution of corporate reorganizations.
  • Team Management: Oversee the organization and prioritization of work for junior accountants, including management of engagement costs and billings.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support the professional development needs of junior accountants.
  • Client Management: Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their needs are met and relationships and accounts grow and develop.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • CA or CPA designation, with a minimum of 5 years public practice experience dealing with the accounting and taxation needs of private companies and their shareholders.
  • Comprehensive experience in compilation and review preparation.
  • Experience leading and supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE).
  • Proficient in Caseware and Profile.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office).
