Position Overview:

Title: Plant Maintenance Assistant

The City of Kitchener is looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill the role of Plant Maintenance Assistants within our Parks and Cemeteries department for the summer season. This position involves collaborating with a dedicated team to uphold the aesthetic appeal of our community's outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Watering of plant life as required
  • Assisting in the structural pruning of trees
  • Supporting the Forestry and Horticulture teams on various initiatives
  • Carrying out general maintenance tasks
  • Following instructions and collaborating effectively within a team

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid G class driver's license
  • Completion of at least high school education
  • Previous related experience is an asset
  • Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks
  • Exhibiting a positive demeanor and strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated customer service abilities
