Role Summary

The Nuclear Safety Operations Analyst will engage in diverse technical initiatives and simulations related to Nuclear Safety and Licensing. This role involves the formulation and enhancement of emergency management strategies and protocols, alongside the orchestration and delivery of extensive training exercises.

Key Responsibilities


• Assist in the strategic planning of large-scale emergency simulations by crafting realistic scenarios to enhance the exercise framework;


• Deliver presentations to key stakeholders throughout the design and execution phases of exercises;


• Contribute to scientific and technical projects for Calian's nuclear clientele;


• Aid in the creation of comprehensive technical documentation and reports;


• Support Project Managers as needed, including client reporting, reviewing team outputs, and overseeing project personnel;


• Ensure all project outputs are developed and maintained in alignment with the Calian Nuclear Quality Management System (QMS);


• Collaborate as part of a project team to conduct technical evaluations.

Required Qualifications


• 3-5+ years of experience in Emergency Management/Preparedness or Disaster Management roles;


• Proven experience in developing Emergency Response plans and protocols;


• Experience in Emergency Preparedness within the Nuclear sector is highly advantageous;


• Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide insights and solutions to complex challenges;


• Excellent communication skills are essential; the ability to present and facilitate discussions with large groups, as well as to produce technical reports and summaries, is required;


• Flexibility to adapt to evolving project and client needs;


• A collaborative team player, capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary environment;


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Additional Considerations


• Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a Canadian Government Security Clearance at the Secret level;


• Travel may be required up to 20% based on facilitation and training needs across various projects.
