Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision: Lead and manage kitchen staff during shifts, providing training and support to enhance their skills.
  • Planning: Organize and direct food preparation activities, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
  • Standards Monitoring: Set performance goals for the team, track progress, and provide constructive feedback to maintain excellence.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe and sanitary kitchen environment, training staff on food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Quality Control: Regularly assess food quality and presentation to uphold our culinary standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor kitchen inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain an organized and clean kitchen, including thorough cleaning of equipment and workspaces.
  • Role Modeling: Act as a mentor for new hires and existing team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate in food service management or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid food handler's certificate.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a cook in a high-volume restaurant.
  • At least six months of supervisory experience in a similar setting.
  • Proven ability to train and develop staff in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and menu development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage costs effectively while maintaining quality.
  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure team environment.
  • A genuine passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
