Senior Analyst, Expense Operations

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Expense Operations to support the daily operations of the centralized global expense processing and payments for client investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the review and approval of vendor invoices, employee expenses, and expense-related adjustment entries in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage payment and cash management activities for global offices, including timely payment processing, bank opening, bank authority updates, cash forecasting, and excess cash handling.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting functions, including Accounts Payable subledger close, variance analysis, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with Finance groups to provide supporting analysis, documents, and inputs into month-end close, tax filing, management reporting, and financial reporting.
  • Identify, enhance, and develop new accounting processes, driving process improvements with a broad view of building scalable and efficient processes.
  • Assist stakeholders on expense-related matters and respond to stakeholder and auditor queries in a timely manner.
  • Promote the use and understanding of accounts payable policies, systems, and procedures to the team and other stakeholders across the organization.
  • Update key control process documentation to ensure controls are operating as intended.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for streamlining accounts payable processes and recommend solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as the role evolves due to new processes, procedures, and technology implementation.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent, with a professional accounting designation preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a related role, preferably in Corporate Accounting.
  • Committed to continuous improvement with a view of building scalable and standardized processes within a robust control environment.
  • Solid interpersonal skills suited for a professional and thoughtful corporate environment.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid Microsoft Excel skills and other Microsoft Office applications; aptitude and interest in learning new software applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think through problems, assess a variety of factors, and recommend solutions.
  • Build and foster relationships with key business partners across the organization.
  • Exceptional time management and project prioritization skills, with the ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines and adjust to urgent situations.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials general ledger is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a high-performing culture, open to and comfortable with evolving changes and new challenges.
