Job Summary

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Literacy Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with literacy needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the implementation, provision, and instruction of literacy interventions to students who require additional support.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and consultants to create effective learning plans for students.
  • Provide guidance in literacy (reading and writing) to students in a wide range of grade and ability levels.
  • Participate in DDEC literacy initiatives and training to stay up-to-date on best practices.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and provide excellent communication with students, parents, and staff.
Requirements
  • Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma and related experience in an educational environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to commit to upholding and consistently practicing personal diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
What We Offer

The Government of Northwest Territories offers a competitive salary range of $32.96 per hour to $39.35 per hour, plus an annual Northern Allowance of $12,839.
