Key Responsibilities


• Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers face-to-face.


• Efficiently sort, collect, and deliver mail items in a safe and timely manner.


• Develop and retain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers, and delivery points.


• Ensure the secure handling of mail during delivery.

Manage various Canada Post products and services (Change of Address Notification, Damaged Mail, Items Delivered Bill, etc.) Display Canada Post identification prominently while delivering and collecting mail. Lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lb/22.7 kg. Have experience in making deliveries and operating a vehicle under varying weather and traffic conditions.

Vehicle Requirements
(*Note: Vehicle specifications for on-call relief positions will vary based on the postal installation's route requirements.)

Maintain a satisfactory safe driving record. Hold a valid permanent provincial driver's license. Ensure a minimum cargo capacity of 100 cu ft (2832 liters). Have a metal roof and accessory power outlet for Canada Post signage and flashing light. A fifth door or hatchback is preferred for loading oversized items. Provide and maintain the necessary automobile liability insurance for vehicle use. Inform your insurance provider about the vehicle's use while employed at Canada Post.
