Job Description

McMaster University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to lead the Faculty of Health Sciences' equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to promote a culture of inclusion and equity within the Faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead EDI training and education programs for Faculty, staff, and learners.
  • Lead the development and implementation of complex EDI initiatives, including policy changes and strategic partnerships.
  • Provide strategic consultation to the Associate Dean and senior leadership team on internal and external issues affecting the Faculty.
  • Manage and lead multiple EDI initiatives, including stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Supervise staff and provide direction on departmental and school initiatives to align with the Faculty's EDI strategy.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Critical-Race Studies, Sociology, Education, Cultural Studies, etc.).
  • 7-10 years of managing complex EDI portfolios and 5 years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human rights, diversity, accessibility, and equity, including applicable legislation.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and knowledge of racialized communities and equity-seeking groups in Canada.
  • Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group.
