About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cash Manager to join our team at Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix. As a Cash Manager, you will be responsible for managing the resources of the Cash Department, ensuring the achievement of store objectives, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and ensure that cashier staff demonstrate our CORE Values.
  • Interview and recommend final candidates for hiring cashiers.
  • Ensure cashiers comply with all Store Standards.
  • Schedule cashier staff hours, days off, and vacations within established guidelines.
  • Train employees in job functions and provide ongoing coaching and instructions.
  • Assist with completing performance reviews of cashier staff in conjunction with the FSM.
Customer Service
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided beyond expectation.
  • Ensure employees present proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy.
  • Ensure cashiers ask for PC Optimum Card during each transaction.
  • Promote all company initiatives of PC Optimum, fundraising with customers and employees.
  • Be responsible for cash-focused promotions/offers.
  • Ensure all cashiers are aware of weekly promotions and scanning code of practice.
  • Ensure lottery trays are to standard, locked, following legislative lottery policy.
Financial
  • Perform clerical/banking duties.
  • Assist with all coin orders, resolve all discrepancies with cash and coin orders.
  • Maintain cash office/safe following Store Standards.
  • Print transaction exception report weekly identifying variances.
  • Print cash over/short weekly; identify and investigate variances.
  • Knowledge of charge accounts as applicable.
Loss Prevention
  • Ensure all loss prevention systems and procedures are performed according to Standards.
  • Ensure procedures regarding parcel checks are adhered to.
Qualifications
  • Planning, Judgement, and Decision Making.
  • Independent thinking and decision making when dealing with issues related to customer's requests.
  • Judgment & decisions would be made based on ability to ask the right questions leading to the appropriate solutions.
  • This position requires the ability to act upon tasks and goals outlined by management.
Experience
  • Supervisory and labour management experience.
  • Experience with retail/grocery and cash handling.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient time management ability.
  • Financial analysis ability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organization and planning skills.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Working Conditions
