About the Role:

OEG Gaming oversees a variety of gaming initiatives for the Edmonton Oilers, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, and other partners. This includes managing existing charitable raffles and developing new in-venue and online gaming initiatives. This position is perfect for a proactive individual eager to engage in the evolving gaming sector, working on diverse gaming projects both directly and through partnerships.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee relationships with external vendors and partners.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Gaming Operations to devise and execute short-term and long-term sales and marketing strategies for various gaming initiatives.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance as a gaming supplier (registration, adherence to regulations, etc.) with AGLC.
  • Ensure compliance as a registered gaming supplier in jurisdictions outside of Alberta, if necessary.
  • Coordinate with internal and external technical partners to facilitate the online platform.
  • Leverage data and insights to innovate product features and improve customer experiences.
  • Establish objectives for gaming products, prioritize features and opportunities, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Develop solutions that enhance fan engagement through gamification.
  • Contribute to OEG projects as needed.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing products within the gaming industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of free-to-play games, fantasy sports, online casinos, sports betting, and related products.
  • Understanding of customer lifecycle management and the role of product features and gamification at various stages.
  • Familiarity with provincial gaming supplier legislation (experience in Alberta or elsewhere in Canada is advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Basic knowledge of business technology and system implementation processes.
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills (finance, marketing, etc.).
  • Experience in creating and maintaining product roadmaps.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale products from inception to completion.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern product development and delivery techniques.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
