Partner Staffing is currently working with our client in seeking an experienced and dynamic Buyer Supply Chain Management Professional on a contractor basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing, negotiating, and administering services or materials purchase orders and contracts. They will take a leading role in the competitive bid process, including RFP development, supplier evaluation, and selection, contract negotiation, and issuing purchase orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the competitive bid process for materials and services, including developing competitive bid documents and managing the bid process.
- Create, negotiate, and manage contracts.
- Manage contract changes, amendments, and dispute resolutions.
- Create and manage purchase orders and ensure that commitments are met and issues are resolved.
- Participate in the development of sourcing strategies.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- University degree or College diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or other related discipline.
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or equivalent Certified Supply Chain Leader (CSCL) is preferred; or working towards an SCMP or CSCL designation.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience is required; 7 or more years is preferred.
- Proven ability/experience in the above-noted responsibilities.
- Understanding of legal terms and conditions.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with SAP and Oracle is an asset.
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks at the same time.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
