Heavy Equipment Technician

Brandt is seeking a skilled Field Heavy Equipment Technician to join our Sydney Construction & Forestry team.
Job SummaryThis role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
- Accurately document work orders, including machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
- Assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
- Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
- Locate and order parts from parts personnel.
- Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
- Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
- Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
