The Dirt Merchant Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment to perform various tasks such as excavation, grading, and hauling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, and graders to perform excavation, grading, and hauling tasks.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks as needed.
  • Understand and follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Train or assist in the training of other workers as needed.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate.
  • Ground Disturbance - Level II program.
Working Conditions:
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • May be required to work at heights or in confined spaces.
