Dietary Aide Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dietary Aide to join our team at Fountain View Community. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing exceptional food service and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow proper food handling techniques to maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents.
  • Date, label, and store food properly to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Keep work areas clean and uncluttered, and complete scheduled cleaning duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors in food preparation, dish room, and storage areas.
  • Support all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of residents in accordance with infection control, quality management, legislative requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, using proper portion sizes.
  • Take orders for first and second menu choices from residents, following likes and dislikes.
  • Set and clear tables in dining rooms and wash/sanitize tables, chairs, and serveries.
  • Lift required and put away groceries.
Requirements:
  • Maintain a current Safe Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Be familiar with the correct procedure for service and handling of food.
  • Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment, such as dishwasher, conveyor toaster, and meat-slicer.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) and Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
