Job Title: Literacy Support Assistant

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Literacy Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with literacy needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation, provision, and instruction of literacy interventions to students who require it.
  • Provide academic assistance in areas such as reading and writing to students in a wide range of grade and ability levels.
  • Collaborate with school staff and consultants to create effective time tables for students.
  • Participate in DDEC literacy initiatives and training.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Read and comprehend appropriate materials, including a basic understanding of teaching instruction and classroom management techniques.
Requirements:
  • Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma and related experience in an educational environment.
  • Equal combinations of education and experience will be considered.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $32.96 per hour to $39.35 per hour (approximately $64,272 - $76,733) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $12,839.
