The Canadian Mathematical Society is a leading organization dedicated to advancing mathematical research and education. We are currently seeking a talented and innovative Statistical Analyst to join our team in a dynamic technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mathematical and statistical evaluations of gaming systems, including games of chance and skill.
  • Utilize advanced statistical methods to solve complex probability challenges.
  • Create and implement software solutions tailored for statistical assessments.
  • Establish risk-based testing methodologies to ensure the integrity of gaming products.
  • Analyze third-party testing results from a mathematical perspective.
  • Develop and refine risk indicators as part of a comprehensive risk management strategy.
  • Employ a data-driven approach to identify and address high-risk areas.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., C++, Java) and one statistical programming language (e.g., R, Python).
  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle and experience in designing and maintaining custom software.
  • Expertise in the following areas:
    • Randomness and Random Number Generators (RNG)
    • Probability theory
    • Statistical analysis and data analytics
    • Data visualization and dashboard creation
    • Mathematical modeling
    • Risk analysis and management
    • Quality assurance and project management
    • Process optimization
