About the Opportunity
ZE Power Engineering Inc. is a leading engineering design company that provides innovative services to the electric utility industry. We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in administrative tasks and provide support to our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams, associates, and client reviewers as needed.
- Ensure design conformance to client and company design standards.
- Prepare layouts, conceptual designs, calculations, illustrations for distribution and transmission civil/structural projects.
- Assist in project coordination, strategic planning, client support, and business analysis supporting the business development and project management departments.
- Support documentation process for projects, including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports, and project calculations.
- Interface with other design disciplines, coordinate with related stakeholders, and assist team leads and managers.
- Perform site visits to project locations.
Qualifications
- A degree in civil engineering from a recognized engineering educational institution, specializing in structural engineering for steel and concrete designs.
- Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or EIT with EGBC.
- Civil engineering design experience in an electrical utility environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical utility civil standards is an asset.
- Experience with finite element modeling and analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to communicate effectively.
- A Class 5 driver's license and ability to travel occasionally.
- Familiarity with BC Hydro standards, design codes, and guides.
