About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineering Lead - Mechanical Systems to join our team at J&T MACHINE KNIFE INC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Development: Conduct thorough research into the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanisms, components, and systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Standardization and Scheduling: Develop and implement maintenance standards, schedules, and programs to optimize system performance and minimize downtime.
  • Problem-Solving: Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Project Management: Plan and manage projects, preparing material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications for machinery and systems.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Business Development: Assess business opportunities and develop strategies to drive growth and improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a maintenance engineering role.
  • Work Setting: Manufacturing or processing industry.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in Mastercam CAD/CAM, AutoCAD, MS Windows, project management software, and MS Office.
  • Transportation and Travel: Valid driver's license and access to public transportation.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and physically demanding tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, excellent oral and written communication, organized, reliable, team player, punctual, hardworking, honest, and ability to multitask.
