About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as a permanent faculty member in the School of Critical and Creative Studies at Alberta University of the Arts. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, pursuing an active scholarly research agenda, and participating in university governance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in areas related to curricular need and expertise
  • Pursue an active scholarly research agenda
  • Participate in university governance activities
  • Design and revise curriculum to address changes in the field and emerging opportunities
  • Pursue growth in pedagogical and academic excellence
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a terminal degree in a related field (PhD) and demonstrated experience teaching at the post-secondary level. Evidence of an active scholarly and/or creative practice is also required. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate expertise contributing to the redesign of curriculum and teaching practice with the goal of improving diversity and inclusion, as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and in all aspects of academic life.

The School of Critical and Creative Studies provides non-studio academic courses at Alberta University of the Arts. Our curriculum emphasizes critical discourse and methods that support students engaging with the practice of interpretation in a contemporary context.
