Job Title: Site Manager


Location: Northern Cape, South Africa


Hire Resolve's client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Manager to oversee all aspects of construction projects in the Northern Cape. The Site Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of construction processes and regulations.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Supervise Construction Activities: Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, building codes, and regulations.
  • Project Coordination: Monitor progress and coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and engineers, to ensure effective communication and timely completion of tasks.
  • Construction Scheduling and Budgeting: Develop and implement construction schedules, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Technical Expertise: Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility, and provide technical expertise and advice when needed.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of workmanship, adherence to specifications, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve construction issues, including design changes, unforeseen obstacles, and scheduling conflicts, in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Team Management: Hire, train, and manage site staff, including contractors and construction workers, to ensure a skilled and productive workforce.
  • Procurement: Collaborate with procurement teams to source and select subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, and negotiate contracts ensuring the best possible value for the project.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, change orders, and material records, and provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on construction industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance construction processes and deliver best-in-class results.


Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Minimum of a National Diploma in electrical or mechatronic engineering.
  • Experience: Proven knowledge of renewable plant management (or similar industrial plant) is required.
  • Technical Skills: Able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Driver's License: Valid Code B driver's license is a requirement.
