Job Title: Site Manager

Job Summary:

Hire Resolve's client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Manager to oversee all aspects of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of construction processes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Coordination: Manage and supervise all construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines, building codes, and regulations.
  2. Progress Monitoring: Monitor progress of projects and coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and engineers, to ensure effective communication and timely completion of tasks.
  3. Schedule Management: Develop and implement construction schedules, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.
  4. Technical Expertise: Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility, and provide technical expertise and advice when needed.
  5. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of workmanship, adherence to specifications, and compliance with safety standards.
  6. Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve construction issues, including design changes, unforeseen obstacles, and scheduling conflicts, in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  7. Team Management: Hire, train, and manage site staff, including contractors and construction workers, to ensure a skilled and productive workforce.
  8. Procurement: Collaborate with procurement teams to source and select subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, and negotiate contracts ensuring the best possible value for the project.
  9. Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, change orders, and material records, and provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders.
  10. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on construction industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance construction processes and deliver best-in-class results.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Minimum of a National Diploma in electrical or mechatronic engineering; BTech preferred (or NQF equivalent)
  2. Experience: Proven knowledge of renewable plant management (or similar industrial plant) is required, including:
  3. Wind Farm Systems: Demonstrated knowledge of wind farm systems and operations
  4. Technical Skills: Able to read and understand technical drawings
  5. SCADA Systems: Exposure to/knowledge of SCADA Systems, HV and MV power systems, transformers, solar PV system (inverters and PV panels)
  6. Power Systems: Experience in switching LV and MV systems
  7. Power System Protection: Working knowledge of power system protection
  8. Maintenance: Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of LV and 33 kV cable systems including fault location and diagnostics
  9. Supervisory Experience: Ideally, two years' supervisory experience
  10. Safety Record: Proven excellent safety record OHS Act knowledge - Health and Safety
  11. ERP/CMMS: General ERP/CMMS experience is an advantage
  12. Microsoft Office: Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word and Excel is required
  13. Driver's License: Valid Code B driver's license is a requirement
