About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Examiner to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As a Medical Examiner, you will play a critical role in investigating deaths and determining the cause and manner of death.

Key Responsibilities
  • Autopsy and Specimen Examination: Assist with or perform autopsies and surgical specimen examinations under the supervision of pathologists.
  • Removal of Organs and Tissue Specimens: Remove organs and tissue specimens from bodies in the morgue as directed by the pathologist.
  • Certification and Training: Possess specialty residency training and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Medical Specialization: Possess expertise in pathology.
  • Screening Questions: Be available for shift or on-call work and willing to relocate for this position.
