About the Role:
The Youth Program Coordinator is a key member of our team at DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society, responsible for the development and delivery of youth engagement programming and services for new immigrant youth between the ages of 13 and 24.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-create and deliver program activities for groups of youth, focusing on cross-cultural communication, leadership, health and wellbeing, and post-secondary opportunities.
- Develop materials and manuals for workshops on topics such as suicide and anger management, and facilitate these workshops.
- Organize social and cross-cultural events and relevant field trips to promote youth engagement and community building.
- Support settlement and integration needs of the age group, providing information and referral services to all program participants.
- Develop program participant intake procedures and conduct intake interviews to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Prepare program reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in community and government consultations related to the delivery and enhancement of youth services.
- Attend program planning/review meetings, team meetings, and special meetings as required to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Develop marketing materials and conduct promotional activities to recruit program participants and promote the organization's services.
- Assist with the monitoring, development, and implementation of quality assurance measures to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
- Degree in Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, with a minimum of one year of related experience in youth settlement work, project coordination, and administration.
- Knowledge of immigrant and youth settlement issues, integration processes, and the impact of trauma on youth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to speak one of the languages of the refugee client population.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Ability to develop and deliver training programs and materials, and make public presentations and group facilitation.
- Sound knowledge of community resources and ability to network and build partnerships.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines, with a strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other databases.
