About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Mother Tongue. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Management: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to optimize our menu offerings and pricing.
  • Operational Analysis: Analyze operating costs and other data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Culinary Innovation: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to our cooking staff to stay ahead of the culinary curve and maintain our reputation for excellence.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor our specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Menu Development: Work with our culinary team to develop and implement new menu offerings that meet the changing tastes and preferences of our customers.
  • Supply Chain Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure that our kitchen is well-stocked and equipped to meet the demands of our business.
  • Staff Training: Train our staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Schedule: 35 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
