Job Summary

William Osler Health System is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients, working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Adhere to hospital mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Provide radiologists with high-quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impressions, and discuss ultrasound findings with the radiologist when necessary
  • Perform other duties related to the job classification as required

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists in Ontario (CMRITO) required
  • ARDMS (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS) or eligibility for registration with ARDMS (CRGS) within six months of the date of hire
  • Recent experience in related area of responsibility required
  • Able to perform breast imaging is an asset
  • Experience in general abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatric, vascular, and musculoskeletal an asset
  • Experience in ultrasound special procedures, i.e., biopsies, an asset
  • FMF NT certification an asset
  • Membership with Sonography Canada an asset
  • Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work record

Working Conditions

This position requires working weekend nights, 8-hour shifts, including statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements).
