Horizon North is seeking a skilled Second Cook to join our team in a world-class camp facility. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a regular shift of 14 days on and 7 days off, with 10 workdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the overall kitchen operations, ensuring consistent quality standards in food preparation and safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Prepare food items for sandwich making, breakfast, and salad bar.
- Visually inspect the appearance of all cold food for proper color combination and overall presentation.
- Check and control proper storage of all food items in refrigerators and freezers to maintain product freshness.
- Ensure food stocks are utilized effectively.
Requirements:
- Minimum five years' cooking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environment.
- FoodSafe Level I certification, with SafeCheck advanced food safety certification or HACCP certification an asset.
- Ability to obtain a mark of 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test.
