About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide top-notch patient care and support in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and process physicians' orders, ensuring timely and accurate communication with healthcare teams.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare professionals, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Coordinate patient/resident appointments, maintain accurate records, and ensure seamless communication with healthcare teams.
  • Perform various clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and report preparation, to support the efficient operation of patient/resident care areas.
  • Observe patient/resident call signals and relay messages to relevant personnel, ensuring prompt and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution
  • A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
  • A strong resume and cover letter outlining your preferred work location, schedule, and availability to start in a new position
