Job Title: Nursing Unit Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. This is a Casual opportunity, which means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from week to week.

As a Nursing Unit Assistant, you will perform a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a patient/resident care area. This includes prioritizing, processing, and coordinating physicians' orders, acting as a communication link for the Unit, and scheduling patient/resident appointments.

Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize and process physicians' orders
  • Act as a communication link for the Unit
  • Schedule patient/resident appointments
  • Assemble and maintain patient/resident charts
  • Perform clerical duties, including data entry and filing
  • Maintain timekeeping records for regular and relief staff
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater
  • A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
  • Availability to start in a new position
