About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide top-notch patient care and support in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and process physicians' orders, ensuring timely and accurate communication with healthcare teams.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare staff, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, maintaining accurate records and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Compile and maintain patient charts, inputting data into relevant systems and ensuring confidentiality.
  • Perform various clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and report preparation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage timekeeping records for regular and relief staff, submitting payroll information in a timely manner.
  • Respond to patient call signals, relaying messages to relevant personnel and ensuring prompt attention.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater, completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution
  • A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
  • A strong resume and cover letter, highlighting your preferred work location, schedule, and availability to start in a new position
