Position Overview

The Cleaner is tasked with delivering cleaning and related services for designated facilities under the guidance of the Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fulfill responsibilities to meet Client/Tenant expectations and report any cleaning deficiencies to the Team Leader for inclusion in the cleaning schedule.
  2. Primary tasks include washing, dusting, emptying waste and recycling bins, operating cleaning machinery, changing light bulbs, and snow removal.
  3. Secure assigned facilities after hours by locking doors, closing windows, managing lighting, and resetting security systems as necessary.
  4. Adhere to corporate and regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines concerning environmental, health, safety, and fire protection standards.
  5. Act as a representative of BGIS in promoting tenant and customer satisfaction while maintaining positive relationships.
  6. May be required to work shifts, be on-call, or respond to emergency situations as needed.
  7. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High school diploma.

Job-Related Experience: Up to one year.

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Minimum of one year of experience in industrial or commercial cleaning operations.
  2. Self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of working independently.
  3. Collaborative team player.
  4. Strong verbal communication and writing abilities.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  6. Positive attitude towards all aspects of Environmental, Health, and Safety practices.
  7. Familiarity with national and industry standards such as WHMIS.

Licenses and Certifications

  1. Must meet security clearance requirements, if applicable.
