About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at North Star Pho Inc. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation
    • Ensure all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, and storage areas, are clean and sanitized at all times.
    • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit as needed.
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items according to our menu standards.
    • Package take-out food and ensure it is ready for customers in a timely manner.
  • Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Ensure all supplies are properly labeled and stored.
  • Waste Management
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash on a regular basis.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Sharpen kitchen knives as needed.
    • Perform basic maintenance tasks on kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, courteous, and attentive to customer needs.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an asset.
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Qualities
    • Positive attitude and ability to multitask.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with a variable schedule of 30 to 40 hours per week. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding.
