Role Overview
The Senior Analyst will deliver administrative and analytical support to the Credit Planning division at Shinhan Bank Canada, focusing on the strategic planning and execution of loan products, policies, and guidelines. This role involves assisting in the administration, reporting, and research of financial products and services within the market. Reporting directly to the Manager of Credit Planning, this individual will aid in the collection, consolidation, and analysis of critical business data related to client, product, and segment profitability, as well as activity-based processes, revenues, and cost factors. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior associates and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze market trends to identify changes in the industry and contribute to the research, development, and rollout of innovative loan products and services.
- Assist in reviewing mortgage loan policies, procedures, services, products, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare or contribute to comprehensive reports for senior management, parent bank, regulators, and the board of directors.
- Conduct quality assurance on lending applications by verifying adherence to policies and ensuring data integrity.
- Collaborate with the Credit Planning team to research and develop new lending solutions.
- Support the implementation of changes in the internal banking system related to new products and services, data aggregation, reporting, and enhancements to existing lending processes.
- Work with the Credit Planning team to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and improve the effectiveness of assigned functions.
- Provide training and guidance to branches and Credit Analysis & Adjudication teams regarding the bank's products, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the administrative requirements of the department.
- Engage in special project support as needed.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
Work Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years in the lending sector.
- At least 3 years of experience within the Canadian Banking System.
- Preferred experience in direct credit operations within the banking or financial services sector.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze, assess, and provide actionable insights.
- Proven capability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
