About the Role:

The Healthcare Support Worker is a vital member of our care team, providing non-clinical healthcare support to clients and residents in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate as an integral member of a healthcare delivery team to provide support to clients and residents.
  • Establish rapport with clients and residents, and assist in promoting their physical, emotional, cultural, social, and spiritual well-being.
  • Assist with mealtime activities, including setting up, welcoming, and transporting clients or residents to dining areas.
  • Provide assistance in carrying out activities, such as setting up supplies and equipment, and encouraging participation.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, and delivering laundry.
  • Greet visitors and others in accordance with established safety, security, and infection control procedures and guidelines.
  • Check and restock supplies as required, including personal care, first aid, and housekeeping supplies.

Requirements:

  • Grade 10, including successful completion of English 10 or equivalency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check.

Compensation:

The wage for this position is $24.80 per hour, with the possibility of wage leveling ending and the pay rate reflecting the collective agreement pay rates.
