Meat Retail Manager

Position Overview:
The Meat Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the meat section, ensuring that customers receive top-quality meat products while providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide all meat department personnel to ensure efficient and friendly customer service.
- Manage the flow of production from receiving to cutting and wrapping.
- Address customer inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly, maintaining excellent customer relations.
- Drive sales and profitability, ensuring that sales targets and budgets are achieved.
- Recruit and train part-time staff, ensuring a well-prepared team.
- Schedule meat clerks while maintaining strict control over labor costs.
- Enforce company policies and ensure adherence to union agreements.
- Maintain the quality and condition of all fresh meat displays, freezers, and coolers.
- Uphold safety and sanitation standards within the department.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Responsibility for the production of fresh meat.
- Three to five years of experience in the retail meat sector.
- Previous management experience is highly desirable.
- Completion of Grade 12 with a Meat Cutter Apprenticeship Certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
