About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Team Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing direct, hands-on care to patients and supporting their activities of daily living.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of regulated health professionals and will be responsible for:

  • Providing patient care and support based on individual needs and program/unit requirements
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living
  • Reinforcing patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Continuing Care Assistant Program certified
  • Provincially certified with the Department of Health and Wellness
  • Registered and active with the CCA Registry
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification holder
  • Effective communicator with excellent listening skills
  • Competent in other languages, with French being an asset

Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time, long-assignment position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $25.70. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
