Job Summary

We are seeking a Community Health Nurse to join our team. As a Community Health Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing services to First Nations communities, promoting health, preventing disease, and protecting population health. You will work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver curative, rehabilitation, and supportive or palliative care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community and public health nursing services, including health promotion, disease prevention, and health education.
  • Work with community members, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement health plans.
  • Conduct health assessments, provide health counseling, and refer patients to other healthcare services as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies to improve health outcomes.
  • Travel to various communities across the province to provide nursing services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
  • Understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols.
  • Knowledge of nursing processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in public health, home care nursing, or community health (1-2 years).
