Position Overview:
As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing patient care and supporting our veterinary professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians during patient consultations, discussing treatment plans and surgical options with pet owners.
  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout their procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Oversee the discharge process for patients post-surgery, providing owners with essential aftercare instructions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of veterinary associates and temporary staff, ensuring high standards of care and teamwork.
  • Manage hospital communications effectively, liaising with the support office and other departments.
  • Evaluate team performance and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate locum staffing and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal clinic operations.
  • Conduct regular assessments of clinic facilities for maintenance and repairs.
  • Schedule staff to align with patient appointment needs.
  • Engage in bi-weekly and monthly meetings with senior leadership to review goals and financial performance.

Registered Veterinary Technologist/Technician Duties:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in anesthesia techniques, with opportunities for further training available.
  • Review patient files and communicate with clients regarding lab results and necessary follow-ups.
  • Prepare for surgical procedures by ensuring the treatment area is ready and all necessary equipment is functional.
  • Maintain accurate logs for controlled substances and manage client interactions with professionalism.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills both in-person and over the phone, fostering positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Utilize computer software effectively for administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Veterinary Technology program.
  • Competence in utilizing technology for telemedicine services.
  • Engagement in community service initiatives through VCA programs.
