About the Role
We are seeking a talented and focused leader to join our team as an Assistant Accounting Manager, Financial Operations. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for managing the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial reports.
- Manage tax compliance, including income and indirect taxes.
- Day-to-day management and supervision of the accounting staff to ensure the department functions effectively.
- Monitor income and expenses to ensure accurate classification and recording within financial reports.
- Review and approval of general ledger reconciliations and analysis, including significant accounts.
- Review of journal entries and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Signing authority on company documentation and bank accounts as required.
- Maintain the accounting department procedures manual and ensure all staff are familiar with its contents.
- Analysis of operations and financial records to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in the identification of opportunities to improve department efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee the implementation and integration of procedural or other departmental changes.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and addressing audit findings.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure appropriate levels are maintained.
- Completion and management of ad hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or accounting.
- CPA, CFA, and/or CBV or equivalent designation preferred.
- Ability to think strategically and leverage critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and business judgment.
- Proficiency with Excel and building business presentations through PowerPoint.
- Financial modeling and valuation skills, including DCF, comps analysis, forecasting, etc.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- High EQ and interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to balance multiple high-priority projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to deliver insights around business problems.
Compensation
Peoples Trust offers a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $90,000 and $100,000 per year, depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience of the chosen candidate.
