Position Overview - International Engagement Specialist

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking an International Engagement Specialist to enhance its international office network. This permanent, full-time role is integral to the Ministry of Trade and Export Development.

Location

Based in Regina, this position reports directly to the Manager of International Offices.

Salary

Compensation ranges from $39.712 to $49.762 per hour, classified under SGEU.11.

Role Responsibilities

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the international offices by:

  • Conducting thorough research and analysis to facilitate the development of strategic initiatives.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication pathways between international offices and the provincial headquarters.
  • Collaborating with international teams to prepare essential materials.
  • Providing insightful information, advice, and recommendations to senior management.
  • Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of Saskatchewan's international value proposition and translating it into effective communication strategies.
  • Managing additional projects and tasks as required to promote international objectives.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will exhibit:

  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to lead time-sensitive projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in building and nurturing relationships, showcasing cultural diplomacy.
  • A proactive approach to embracing change and navigating uncertainty.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • The capacity to manage multiple competing projects, prioritize effectively, and keep stakeholders informed.
Qualifications

Typically, candidates will possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant field. A combination of education and pertinent work experience will also be considered.

This role requires flexibility to work outside standard office hours to accommodate global partners.
