Position Overview

The Culinary Specialist will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This role involves managing a team of culinary professionals and coordinating food preparation for various events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Food Management: Maintain detailed records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze operating costs and other relevant data to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Training: Demonstrate innovative cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff.
  • Recipe Development: Create and refine new recipes to enhance the menu offerings.
  • Instruction: Guide cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of dishes.
  • Event Catering: Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
  • Supervision: Oversee cooks and other kitchen personnel, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Food Preparation: Regularly prepare and cook meals or specialty foods for guests and functions.
  • Supply Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Equipment Oversight: Arrange for the purchase and repair of kitchen equipment.
  • Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients regarding menu planning for weddings, banquets, and special functions.
  • Menu Planning: Plan menus and ensure that food meets established quality standards.
  • Staff Recruitment: Recruit and hire kitchen staff to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise the activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, and cooks.
  • Training Programs: Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage a team of 3-4 kitchen staff.
