Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Project Management Director to lead our greenhouse project management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to major facility expansions, major equipment and systems purchases and installations.
Key Responsibilities- Project Scoping and Planning: Lead the project scoping, site-plan, permitting, quoting, constructing, installation and commissioning process.
- Permitting and Approvals: Meet with local officials to coordinate permit approvals and ensure all proper permits are secured prior to execution of construction.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule job site project with completion date in mind, create and maintain Gantt chart schedule for the entire project and adjust accordingly ensuring the project stays on schedule.
- Contractor Management: Coordinate and conduct weekly meetings with all contractors to keep the deadline completion date, schedule job site inspections in accordance with due date or follow-up with contractors if inspections are scheduled by the contractors.
- Trade Management: Manage all company hired trades.
- Design and Quality Control: Maintain latest design on file and ensure that everything is built based on company standards, work with the President and Chief Growing Officer to review contractor drawings and ensure greenhouse is built to company specs.
- Health and Safety: In collaboration with the HRBP or H&S Coordinator, prepare the job site H&S plan, maintain all documentation for H&S requirements, ensure a safe work environment and that company and statutory hygiene, housekeeping and safety policies and procedures are consistently complied with.
- Financial Management: Review and approve payment of incoming invoices, review and maintain all project budgets, meet regularly with the President/CFO or both, to ensure project remain on budget.
- Leadership and Communication: Conduct regular, periodic meetings with the H&S committee, lead by example and demonstrate a commitment to high professional and ethical standards, possess the drive and energy to fit into a fast-paced, high-growth culture with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
- Education: Post secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or other equivalent construction/trade background preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience as a greenhouse Project Manager, preferred.
- Skills: Problem solving and critical thinking skills, analytical thinker: able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems, good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization, Spanish speaking is an asset.
