About the Role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key member of our care team, responsible for providing high-quality, resident-centered care to our residents. As an LPN, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to assess residents' needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide direct care to residents.

Responsibilities
  • Assess residents' physical and emotional needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Provide direct care to residents, including administering medications, performing wound care, and providing emotional support.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that residents receive comprehensive, high-quality care.
  • Document resident care and progress in our electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in care conferences and other meetings to discuss resident care and make decisions about resident care.
  • Provide education and support to residents and their families about resident care and health.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Graduate of an approved program for Practical Nursing and holds a current license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an LPN.
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification.
  • Successful annual Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) competency testing.
  • Previous experience in a long term care facility an asset.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Computer skills including the ability to navigate basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills.
  • Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand and walk as required to perform the duties of the position.
