Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team at State Street. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our software products effectively support the trading and front office workflows of our clients in the financial industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of business requirements and workflows to assist in product development and improvement.
  • Research and produce comprehensive business and technical requirement documents.
  • Work closely with clients and product management teams to gather product requirements and develop feature specifications.
  • Partner with development teams to help develop, implement, and refine features.
  • Plan and schedule validation tasks, provide hands-on manual tests, and develop verification plans and processes.
  • Provide feedback on product performance and ensure accurate and complete documentation.
  • Support client beta testing and train personnel on the capabilities of new product releases.
  • Assist with project schedule management and deliverables.
  • Support the implementation and resolution of escalated client issues.
  • Actively participate in the Agile software development process, adhering to the State Street Scrum Methodology.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle, particularly with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills.
  • Advanced writing skills, including the ability to abstract and summarize complex information.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to reconcile conflicting data.
  • Ability to translate customer business needs into application requirements.
  • Strong technical background and experience with middle office investment management functions.
  • Demonstrated planning and scheduling skills.
  • Curiosity and interest in financial markets and trading.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical product specification documents.
  • Knowledgeable in one or more State Street functional financial areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Education: BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or study of Business with an MIS background. MS/MBA degree strongly preferred.
