About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at Co-operators Life Insurance Company. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing expert-level financial modeling, analysis, and interpretation to support management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business unit management teams to understand business unit performance and provide support for business unit initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business partners to support profitability analysis, communicate key insights, and influence them to take action on findings.
  • Model, analyze, and forecast premium, claims, and expense-related performance on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Conduct periodic reviews with business partners to identify gaps in information reporting and new information requirements.
  • Coach team members on problem-solving and promote team involvement and increasing efficiency as a team.
  • Responsible for the development, documentation, and maintenance of departmental processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Having or working towards professional accounting designation or appropriate professional qualifications (CA, CMA, CGA, CFA, or MBA) is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years related business or accounting experience.
  • Advanced spreadsheet, reporting/budgeting software, and data warehouse tool knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and insurance accounting.
