About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at Patel Supermarket. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledgers.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to management, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Payroll Administration: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, as well as maintain accurate records of employee hours and wages.
  • Fixed Asset Management: Calculate and record depreciation of fixed assets, and maintain accurate records of asset purchases and disposals.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, and other essential services.
  • Foreign Credential Recognition: Support newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition, including education and work experience.
  • Mentorship Programs: Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, promoting cultural understanding and professional development.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
