About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Operator to join our team at Next Power Inc. as a key member of our site operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a range of construction equipment, including cranes, excavators, and bulldozers, to ensure efficient and safe site operations.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, including heavy machinery and equipment, to and from the site.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, and other site infrastructure to facilitate safe and efficient construction processes.
  • Assist in aligning pipes and other infrastructure during pipeline construction.
  • Operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards.
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
  • Operate dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines.
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced construction environment, often in extreme weather conditions.
  • Handle heavy loads and operate heavy machinery, requiring physical stamina and endurance.
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces, requiring attention to safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in construction equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
