We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Technician to join our Maintenance team at Johnson Electric. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing repairs and troubleshooting mechanical and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform repairs and maintenance on pumps, valves, electric and pneumatic actuators, motors, gears, hydraulics, mechanical drives, and other related equipment.
- Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and related equipment, making recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Interpret operating and maintenance manuals, diagrams, and schematics to ensure accurate repair and maintenance.
- Coordinate with external contractors and inspect completed work to ensure it meets Regional Standards and industry best practices.
- Respond to emergency equipment failures, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems, identifying needed resources and making repairs or working with contractors.
- Provide support services to the Region's Special Project Group, assisting with project implementation and equipment start-up and commissioning.
- Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, customers, and contractors through collaboration, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to record work performed, source equipment parts, and update work status.
- Perform welding, pipe fitting, and rigging as required, and other duties as assigned.
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma with a valid Certificate of Apprenticeship.
- Valid Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) in good standing with the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities.
- Three to five years of practical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, EAM Computerized Maintenance Management System, and other computerized systems an asset.
- Good understanding of safety practices as mandated under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Ability to interpret equipment manufacturers' schematic drawings and design drawings to validate and provide comments on proposed work.
Exposure to noise, heights, confined spaces, poor lighting conditions, and other hazards associated with the manufacturing of powered metal components. Required to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding, and operate material handling equipment.
